Match Preview FA Cup QF2 | Selangor FC vs Negeri Sembilan FC | Full Focus For Second Leg

The match to determine who will qualify for the 2025/26 FA Cup Semi-Finals will see Selangor FC host Negeri Sembilan FC at the MBPJ Stadium for the second Quarter-Final tie, kicking off at 9pm tonight.

Reflecting on the first Quarter-Final encounter, the Red Giants took a commanding 4-0 lead against The Jangs at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi. Read the match review here.

With a Semi-Final place at stake, Selangor FC Head Coach Christophe Gamel believes his players have to show the same determination and fighting spirit displayed in Paroi.

“The team’s preparations have mainly focused on recovery, and I hope the players have had enough rest to perform at a high level in tonight’s match. To qualify for the Semi-Finals, we must show the same spirit and style of play demonstrated in the first leg of the FA Cup Quarter-Finals. I have great faith in the players, and together we will strive to achieve the best possible result,” said Gamel.

As for the player availability, Mukhairi Ajmal remains in the recovery phase following a hamstring injury, while Noor Al Rawabdeh is sidelined due to a fat pad impingement and Sharul Nazeem has been confirmed to have sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury after twisting his knee during the match against Kuala Lumpur City last week. Aside from these players, the rest of the Red Giants squad are fit and ready to fight for the badge.

The Selangor FC management extends our best wishes to the team for tonight’s match and looks forward to seeing the Red Giants advance to the 2025/26 FA Cup Semi-Finals. Let’s do this, Red Giants!
